Description/Blazon
A Gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield with rounded top blazoned:  Vert, issuant from base arm erect Or, clutching two serpents endorsed, knowed and entouring the arms Gules.  Attached below the shield a Gold scroll inscribed "DURABILITY" in Red letters.

Symbolism
Yellow (gold) and green are the colors of the Military Police.  The control functions of the organization are symbolically illustrated by the hand of the organization grasping and subduing the serpents of evil.

Background
The distinctive unit insignia was originally approved for the 801st Military Police Battalion on 26 October 1942.  It was redesignated for the 324th Military Police Battalion on 14 August 1953.

That for the regiments and separate battalions of the Army Reserve:  From a wreath Or and Vert, the Lexington Minute Man Proper.  The statue of the Minute Man, Captain John Parker (H.H. Kitson, sculptor), stands on the common in Lexington, Massachusetts.

The coat of arms was originally approved for the 801st Military Police Battalion on 26 October 1942.  It was redesignated and amended to add the Army Reserve crest for the 324th Military Police Battalion on 14 August 1953.  The insignia was amended to update the blazon on 7 June 1999.
